I would like to thank all the members of our Chapter 28 for all the support and cooperation that was given to me this last year. We have had a very good year and have helped many heart patients.
The meeting in April with Dr. Faircloth was very well attended. The interactions among the members and guests showed me how much Mended Hearts is needed in the lives of recovering heart patients. That means we have a lot of work left to do.
What can we do to help the incoming president, Hank Atkinson, make this the best year ever?
First: Be there! Attend the informative monthly meetings and come get acquainted at lunch, especially if you don’t like to drive at night.
Second: Consider becoming an Accredited Visitor. If visiting in hospitals isn’t for you then become accredited and do telephone or internet visits.
Third: Volunteer to help and work where you can at Heart Fairs, preparing the newsletter, telephoning, and helping the Hospitality Committee are just a few ideas.
You can count on me; can we count on you?
"It's great to be alive - and to help others!"
